Migraine days halved, and not because of the trip
What they did
Ten adults with migraine received oral psilocybin and placebo in two sessions two weeks apart, keeping headache diaries throughout.
What they found
Weekly migraine days fell by 1.65 after psilocybin against 0.15 after placebo. The size of the reduction was not correlated with the intensity of the acute psychedelic effects.
Worth knowing
Ten people. The decoupling from subjective intensity is the genuinely interesting part, since it suggests a mechanism separate from the experience itself, but a sample this small cannot establish that.
